MAORI UNIVERSITY STUDENTS FAIL EARLY — BECOMES POLITICAL — AYESHA FERAL BLAMES GOVERNMENT WHEN IT WAS LABOUR THAT DUMBED DOWN PASSING GRADES AT HIGH SCHOOL
ACCUSATIONS OF NO MAORI NURSES BY AYESHA FERAL IS UNFOUNDED, AGAIN – THE FAULT LIES WITH LABOUR EDUCATION SET MAORI SET UP TO FAIL
Māori Nurse students are failing their nursing training at alarming rates. Despite massive political pressure to increase workforce numbers, official data shows fewer than two-thirds of Māori finish their degrees. This is a massive failure. We must be honest about the root cause: it comes down to basic academic ability, intelligence, and commitment among Māori applicants.
For years, the secondary school system has lowered standards for Māori school students, passing individuals who are simply not ready for tertiary education. When these Māori students enter university, they lack the aptitude needed for hard medical papers and rigorous Māori studying habits. No amount of extra tutoring, special allowances, or political excuses can replace actual capability.
Furthermore, accountability is missing. Many Māori enrollees enter these programs just to access student loans and allowances without actually turning up to class, exploiting the system. Pushing Māori students into nursing based on race rather than merit puts patient safety at risk. Nursing requires high intelligence and dedication, not political correctness.
Overall Failure to Complete
- 33.4% to 69% Attrition Rate: Across all tertiary institutions, a minimum of 33.4% (one in three) of Māori nursing students fail to finish their degree. On specific university campuses, the non-completion rate for Māori students reaches as high as 69%.
Year-by-Year Failure to Progress — Data tracking Bachelor of Nursing cohorts across the country’s main training provider network shows the exact percentage of Māori students who drop out or fail to progress each year: 3 out of 4 fail to achieve enrolment pass to progress, the figures get worse as time progresses
- First-Year Failure Rate: 44.4% of Māori students fail to move past Year 1.
- Second-Year Failure Rate: 21.0% of Māori students fail to move past Year 2.
- Final-Year Failure Rate: 33.9% of Māori students fail to complete Year 3.
Non Maori -Qualification Completion Rates
- Overall Completion Rate: Approximately 75% of non-Māori nursing students successfully complete their three-year undergraduate degrees.
- The Graduation Gap: Non-Māori students finish their qualifications at a rate roughly 15% to 25% graded higher than the national average for Māori cohorts.
Attrition and Failure Rates (Non-Māori)
- Overall Dropout Rate: The non-completion rate for non-Māori nursing students averages 20%
- Year-by-Year Progression: Non-Māori students maintain significantly lower dropout rates across all three years of study, demonstrating higher retention immediately following the first-year examinations.
State Final Examination Pass Rates
- National Licensing Performance: For the students who successfully complete the coursework and reach the Nursing Council of New Zealand State Final Examination, the average national pass rate sits at 88.2%.
- Top-Tier Performance: Certain mainstream tertiary campuses with high proportions of non-Māori students consistently register final examination pass rates between 90% and 100%
Drop the qualifications for Maori students to enter University. It’s only fair!
Dumb cunts rule!
Would you even want one in the drive thru window at Macca’s?
The drive through at Maccas may be where they end up when they drop out!
Just keep them outside the window!
You do not want them cooking.
It was all so much easier when the Tohanga intoned a karakia which lifted the makutu & sent you home with a handful of kawakawa leaves.
I want Earl Grey leaves, thankyou!
