It was a speech to foreign leaders, but President Trump was really talking directly to Americans.
Trump swept into the United Nations on Tuesday and lectured foreign leaders on their shortcomings.
“Looking around and all over this large, magnificent planet, the truth is plain to see,” Trump said. “If you want freedom, take pride in your country. If you want democracy, hold onto your sovereignty. And if you want peace, love your nation. Wise leaders always put the good of their own people and their own country first.”
Then he uttered the line of the day: “The future does not belong to globalists. The future belongs to patriots.”
“The future belongs to sovereign and independent nations who protect their citizens, respect their neighbors, and honour the differences that make each country special and unique. It is why we in the United States have embarked on an exciting program of national renewal. In everything we do, we are focused on empowering the dreams and aspirations of our citizens,” Trump said.
Trump segued into abortion, not a usual topic for U.S. presidents speaking at the U.N.
“We want to support religious freedom for
all. And Americans will never tire of defending innocent life. We are
aware that many United Nations projects assert a global right to
taxpayer-funded abortion on demand. Right up until the moment of
delivery,” he said.
“Global bureaucrats have absolutely no business attacking the sovereignty of nations that wish to protect innocent life. Like many nations, we in America believe, that every child, born and unborn, is a sacred gift from God. There’s no circumstance under which the United States will allow international entities to trample on the rights of our citizens,” he said.

THANK YOU President Trump for standing up to the globalists leaders and giving then a verbal punch in the nose!
I pitied the Americans when their only choices for President were Hillary and Don.
They chose wisely and I’m confident they will do so again.
I think this is an extremely profound statement because human progress largely depends on competition. Thus, nations competing against each other, trying to be ‘the best’ are more likely to succeed than those that meekly bend to the will of the collective.
I started off thinking that this Trump character was a dangerous lying blowhard…. but his achievements so far have quickly changed my opinion of him.
Great message for the UN and for Americans. Good message for us too.
Far better than wittering on with the “Christchurch call” or global climate change.
If the leader is standing up for their country, dealing with any aspects needing attention in the country, including issues arising due to climate change, will be handled by good leadership as a matter of course. We do not need talk about being seen as world leaders, we are too small for that.
Leadership by positive example in this country, for the good of this country, is the leadership I would support.
It was a timely message for the people in the UK as well, given what happened overnight.
I have been looking about this morning to find out what law was broken by Boris when he prorogued Parliament (the SC ruled it was unlawful , but how) –I have not found anything yet. Maybe judicial activism is creeping into the UK system.
Do we not believe that Queen Elizabeth who has been on the throne for over 60 years and suffered through how many PM’s does not know the rules of the Parliament of Westminster? If Boris, the Queen’s PM’s was not entitled to prorogued parliament, she would have told him so when he announced his intention to prorogue on his required visit to see his Queen!
Make the world great again.
Donald Trump has his flaws. but his heart is in the right place.
Trump of sock cocks like Obama and Clinton?
