Eat Less Red Meat, Scientists Said. Now Some Believe That Was Bad Advice.

The evidence is too weak to justify telling individuals to eat less beef and pork, according to new research. The findings “erode public trust,” critics said.
Public health officials for years have urged Americans to limit consumption of red meat and processed meats because of concerns that these foods are linked to heart disease, cancer and other ills.
But on Monday, in a remarkable turnabout, an international collaboration of researchers produced a series of analyses concluding that the advice, a bedrock of almost all dietary guidelines, is not backed by good scientific evidence.
If there are health benefits from eating less beef and pork ,they are small, the researchers concluded. Indeed, the advantages are so faint that they can be discerned only when looking at large populations, the scientists said, and are not sufficient to tell individuals to change their meat eating habits.
I cannot see these so-called experts stopping their efforts in trying to tell the rest of us how to live our lives.
From Never Say Never Again:
M: Too many free radicals, that’s your problem.
Bond: Free radicals, sir?
M: Yes. They’re toxins that destroy the body and the brain. Caused by eating too much red meat and white bread, and too many dry martinis!
Bond: Then I shall cut out the white bread, sir.
So does that mean that the cans of lentils I used to put in the donation bins wont be needed anymore.
They’ll just want nice angus steak!
Bacon brother, bacon.
That’s offensive! At least it is to some retards 😉
I need my meat, with the green veges, to keep my iron levels up, and oxygen circulating with the right hemoglobin count.
The ones who say you can get Fe in enough quantities in other foods are so wrong, and have never suffered daily from the straining side effects of the iron supplementation pills.
Had some major blood transfusion for an operation, but they only put in the “skinny” version of blood, as the best is probably taken for use where most needed else where. So it is like that green top milk.
Always been a meat eater, and now even more reason to enjoy, that tender juicy, rare, T bone, lamb chop, etc.. 🙂 🙂
🙂
So do not get between me and the meat cabinet.
I have serious reason to go through any one, as it is a life or death, and I do not intend to suffer! 🙂
The essential vitamin B-12 is only biologically available to humans from animal sources. That alone proves we evolved as meat eaters.
It is no joke if your body runs out of B-12.

Thanks for the info Kea.
Amen! Cooked a rather massive pork tenderloin on the BBQ last night. Fought the kids over it lol. It was simply beyond delicious.

The anti meat movement is at the extreme end of the authoritarian left. They are among the most radical hate filled fanatics in our society.
They are also incredibly dishonest and much of what we have been told about diet is a pack of lies. This is not harmless and results in the deaths and suffering of 100’s of millions of people.
