    • Careful. If you’re on Santa’s naughty list you might end up with a Greens government with Chloe Swarzbrick as the Prime Minister and Golly G as the deputy PM. No Labour in the mix, but damn that would be a mess!

      • Pascal, What a terrible thought!!!
        Shudder! 😵

        Merry Christmas to all who take part in YSB and may more join in election year for a rollicking good build-up to a successful election and the COL being turfed out on their incompetent backsides. 🎉 😊

    • I am not keen on the Greens and am not OK with Winston’s party. Winston’s combative style is pointless and irritating and all would be better without it, or him.

  1. A **huge** “Merry Christmas” to this blog!

    This is now (without a doubt) the **number one** conservative blog in the country.
    I used to *love* KB but it has become a shadow of its former self – moderated up the wazoo.
    The people there who should be banned aren’t, and the people who shouldn’t be moderated ARE.

    This blog shows that there is very little need for *any* moderation.
    ( I’d love to know what percentage of comments are moderated in any way – I’d guess maybe half a percent. )

    Keep up the great work!

    • Thanks for your kind words. No moderation at all. If I don’t like a comment it is gone.
      FYI since starting this blog there have been 41,477 comments I have trashed 76. That’s only 0.18% (22 of those were the developers testing the new commenting system)
      There is no need for moderation at this stage. Most of us are of a similar mind. I guess if the lefties ever find us that might change. But as we are more sensible than them, we would debate the issues and not the person.

    • This is a conservative blog? Really? We actually have real, classical liberals inhabiting this space. And you’ll find God bothered conservatives need to have strong arguments for their antiquated policies.

      • I see it as a conservative, freedom-loving (libertarian if you like) blog.
        I also don’t see all conservatives as being “God-bothered” or religious.

        I beg to differ about conservative policies being antiquated.
        I see such policies as including –
        * Low taxes
        * Low welfare
        * Freedom of speech
        * Freedom to own guns
        * “Small government”
        * Support for private schools and charter schools
        * Axing of all “PC” laws and “PC” outfits like the Race Relations Office, Human Rights Office, Women’s Affairs, Waitangi Tribunal
        * Against Islam

        The problem I have with the word “liberal” is that it has largely been hijacked to mean “leftist”. I think “libertarian” means much the same thing and is much clearer.

        • Interesting, what you describe as “conservative” is what I would call the first steps on the way to Libertarianism (better than liberal, agree). Conservative to me is big, right leaning state with old, discriminatory laws. No real freedom unless you are white, male, heterosexual and Christian.

          • @Pascal – “Conservative to me is big, right leaning state with old, discriminatory laws. ”

            Ahh – understood!

    • Look out the window, you will see your weather. Its for those wanting to know what the weather might be in another place.

    • Oh come on, please stop complaining on the weather guide. There is a great site Met service you can go on if you actually wish to be made aware of the weather, or perhaps look outside?

  3. Aside, it’s 15 days to Christmas. I have another 13 working days until then to help pay for shitheads like the Coalition and their army of fat, bludging, bought voters. I’ll see all of you lovely folk on the 24th to raise a beer and toast a time when all Kiwis can gather with their families and enjoy that quiet time.
