Heavy rain this morning in Auckland.
We went out for lunch to Westfield Newmarket yesterday. The Chinese influence is most noticeable. The Gong Cha tea shop was doing a roaring trade. Full of young Chinese girls, fat Indian woman, and tattooed Caucasian chicks.
(I bought some cheap apples at the Tai Ping supermarket.)
Welcome to the global age.

The police are shifting their focus from the mental heath issues.

youre so fucked in the head youll believe parts of media and fbi/ ss info but then flat out ignore or deny other things they report cuz it dosent fit your narrative.

now tell me, if you dumb pieces of shit are so convinced this is a conspiracy and cover up then why have none of you dumb fucks explored the option that trump is behind it and its a dangerous yet clever setup to boost his chances?
if youre minced enough to believe all the other utter bullshit youve latched onto then you should at least explore that theory too.

and why arent you losers slamming trump for lying or being in cahoots with deepstate? trump will have access to far more info then you or your online crackpot heros and he hasnt come out and said a fucking thing remotely like you lot claim.
will you still support trump if he still hasnt done so by election day? if he dosent then surely that indicates the left are right and its a trump arranged inside job 🙂 ….. or maybe, just maybe a 20yr old acted alone, got lucky and managed to do what he done due to incompetence.

Race a very modern made up word. For centuries it meant a running competition. In modern times the word degenerated into a way of separating white slaves from black slaves in America & South America, and got loaded with crazy agendas. It’s a slavers term. Modern media programming has been set up to destroy fools who self identify “white” or race pure. It’s a trap.

I can tolerate taxation as a means for the State to fund public infrastructure and institutions for the public good, but what I don’t like is the moral hazard of taxation (it’s other people’s money) and the associated profligacy.

The State needs to be mindful of the Golden Goose.

Civil servants need to be reminded that they serve the People.

Promise a serving of more eggs, & benefits,
To gain more votes for “their” politicians, who will hand over more power & control to those Civil Servants.
Those Civil Servants are shining the light on the largesse, amplified by academia & media.

“A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government.
It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury.
From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.

― Alexander Fraser Tytler

Can a Republic’s constitution protect them from this?
Yet the pressure is there to tamper, soften, bend it to favour the attempt to pull all the eggs out, in one go, in the name of more human rights, for “humanitarian” purposes, for the collective good, purported to be for your good & well being.
A form of “gold fever”

Something bad happens in society.
But, the police won’t act and the media won’t report. Private blogging on the topic is labelled “conspiracy” or “dis-information.”

Questions: What mindset (and who’s mindset) is behind this? Why do we as a society tolerate this? What are the dangers?

nasska
Reply to  Odakyu-sen

What you are describing is “groupthink” which could be loosely interpreted as the moral path society is treading at any given time. Those who don’t conform are considered to be dangerous & are ostracised in various ways. Those who see trends in the “groupthink” of the day can use the undercurrents to attain great power.

“What mindset (and who’s mindset) is behind this?” Probably no-one’s. It is a trait or a trend that ebbs & flows. Those who recognise it can use it to their advantage. They are best described as opportunists.

“Why do we as a society tolerate this?” Because we have much in common with sheep. We crave acceptance & go along with the flock because to stand up & stand out invites disapprobation.

“What are the dangers?” Mostly misjudging the timing of the tide.

You could become very rich & very powerful if you could recognise the precise timing or stage of the tide. Groups like the WEF know that they cannot change the tide but they can launch the right boat at the right time to take advantage of the current.

Japanese voraciously feeds off English words.
For example: サブカル (sa-bu-ka-ru). It’s a popular term in Japan. “Sa-bu” is short for “sub” and “ka-ru” is short for “culture.”
サブカル means sub-culture. (There was no existing Japanese term, so they took it directly from English.) This happens all the time in Japan. サブカル in Japanese expresses exactly the same concept as does “sub-culture” in English.

The thought process behind this is “Damn! We can really use that English word because we don’t have any word in our language that expresses that concept. We need it. We can use it. We will take it and transliterate it directly into Japanese!”

A living language does this. A dead language, on the other hand, has a government committee to synthesize new terminology for it.

Older native speakers of a living language all complain that they can’t understand what their youth are saying. Sounds familiar. It’s the case in Tokyo as well as in Auckland. If you never ever read or hear about speakers of a certain language complaining that they can’t understand what their youth are saying, then you know their language is DEAD.

nasska
Reply to  Odakyu-sen

Te Reo is not a living language. It was cryogenically frozen in the late 19th century when Maori as a people were expected to die out. In 1896 the population reached its lowest figure at around 42,000 & inspired Wellington provincial superintendent, Isaac Featherston, to say Māori were “dying out” and, further, “our plain duty as good, compassionate colonists, is to smooth down their dying pillow”.

For a century it was largely unused except in Maori strongholds eg The East Coast & on the marae. It was a cultural language & since the culture was fixed in a time long past it had no need to evolve.

It has been raised from the dead & pushed by the separatists who know full well that different languages alienate people from each other. Those who are dreaming up new words are trying to fill in the blanks caused by over a hundred years of stagnation.

The next time you go to a Mobil petrol station, have a look for the Te Reo names on the pumps for the various fuels.
If you went back in time to the 1920s and asked a native speaker of Te Reo in the East Cape region what “diesel” was in Maori, he would not have been able to tell you.
I wonder when all these new terms were synthesized in Wellington and then made available to woke corporations for window-dressing.

true osen but if you compare the words of english and many other languages to the same time period youll find theres a hell of alot more new words that never existed.

internet for example. vocabulary evolves as new things are discovered/introduced to that culture. was maori even a word prior to european contact or is that a naming word euros gave to the savage natives?

nasska
Reply to  I am a stupid boy

……”was maori even a word prior to european contact”……

Probably not, at least not as a stand alone noun. The best explanation I’ve come across is at https://teara.govt.nz/en/1966/maori-pakeha-pakeha-maori It’s worth noting that if a Maori was asked who he was 200 years ago he would have answered with his tribal affiliation.

nasska
Reply to  Odakyu-sen

……” a native speaker of Te Reo in the East Cape region what “diesel” was in Maori, he would not have been able to tell you.”……

Absolutely correct. Diesel is supposedly “Tihara” though no explanation of the derivation is attempted & it’s written off as a “loan word”. They’re really pushing the shit here because until Rudolph Diesel invented the engine that bears his name in 1894 the distillate was a waste product of the refining process. In the UK it’s sometimes referred to as derv but there’s a dearth of alternative names for light fuel oil.

But the invention of new words in Te Reo is never better instanced than the term for a car. In 1950s East Cape vernacular it was a straight transliteration ie “motoka”. If you’d told a Maori that you were driving your “waka” down to Gisborne you would have been pronounced porangi on the spot as a waka was a sea going canoe.

The academic cup of crap overfloweth!

Odakyu-sen
Reply to  nasska

“… but there’s a dearth of alternative names for light fuel oil.”
As it happens, the Japanese term for diesel (the fuel) at the pumps is “軽油” or literally “light oil.” The term “ディーゼル燃料” (deizeru nenryou) is also used.

The new Energy Secretary Ed Milliband has just given the green light to the biggest solar farm in the U.K. He claims that building the Sunnica solar farm in East Anglia will “cut bills for families”. As is often the case with politicians, the opposite is true. Because solar farms produce almost no electricity in the winter there will need to be back-up electricity generation.

Subsidies to companies operating solar farms and wind farms is one of the reasons electricity bills in Britain are already amongst the highest in the world.

Meanwhile the big CO2 emitters, like China (30% of global CO2 emissions) move far more slowly towards Net Zero.
They continue to build and operate fossil-fuel power stations. Unlike solar farms and wind farms, these power stations are both cheap and reliable, they work every hour of every day summer and winter.

so a bit about conspiracy theories. .

People too quickly dismiss so-called ‘conspiracy theories.’ As we have learned in recent years, labeling something a conspiracy theory is often an attempt to discourage a careful investigation of the facts in an effort to convince the public to accept a preordained conclusion.
Until the facts and careful analysis lead us to a definitive understanding of the truth, a conspiracy theory should simply be one of several theories that should be investigated.
Often, the adjective ‘right-wing’ is used to describe a conspiracy theory in an effort to cause left wing people to dismiss the theory.
Many right-wing conspiracy theories’ turned out to be true. Hunter Biden’s laptop, Covid escaped from a lab, you get the point.
I try to keep an open mind to all sides of an argument and allow truth to emerge from the empirical data and the most credible arguments from all sides of an issue.

“It’s The Communism Stupid”

One of the most important forces shaping the current US presidential election is not being sufficiently discussed: COMMUNISM.
Because the Democratic Party does not view itself in any way as communist, you can’t have a discussion about the role that communism is playing in support for Donald Trump. How can a Wall-Street friendly party favored by large institutions be communist!?!

Okay. Begin by just stipulating that this is true for the sake of argument whether or not you agree with it.
For the moment, imagine that you see all DEI as Marxist and Maoist. Imagine that you see AOC and the squad as communists. Imagine that what you see in terms of ‘social justice’ or ‘wokeness’ or ‘Postmodernism’ or ‘Gender affirming healthcare’ or ‘Palestinian Genocide’ or ‘Soros open society initiatives’ or ‘progressive DAs’ or ‘Anti-Whiteness’ or ‘defund the police’ is straight up precursor to *violent* revolutionary Marxism.

The people crossing over to the cause of Trump with enormous checkbooks see this EXACTLY the way I have described in the above paragraph. You can pretend that this isn’t so. Maybe they won’t admit it to you or do so in public. But the stark truth of it is that what is driving a lot of surprising support for Trump and the Republicans has nothing to do with either. It’s not all about Trump. Or the GOP.
