  1. Just spent the last week up in Rarangi ( between Picton and Blenheim )
We certainly live in one of the prettiest and most cleanest countries in the world.
The drive from Blenheim to Christchurch via Kaikoura was absolutely spectacular.
Blue skies, blue ocean and fresh clean air. It certainly makes you feel proud to be a New Zealander.

    • M H , The South Island is full of little towns like that ,the west coast once you get below Hokitika is like stepping back in time ,If We go for a south trip on our bikes depending on the weather we spend far more time on the west coast than the east coast, crossing from haast to Milton is a culture shock when you strike highway 1 and the rat race gets more like Auckland the further North you get,We always get back to Picton via Reefton and Murchison because the traffic between Christchurch and Kaikoura is always shit in the summer especially with the road works post earthquakes.
I’d move South tomorrow but my Mrs isn’t keen at all .

      • Between Seddon and Oaro there would have been 10 or 11 stop/go set ups. Added another 40 minutes onto the trip.
But hey, it was nice to stop in the middle of nowhere and take in the scenary whereas before you would have scooted thru at 120kmh.

        • Mike Hunty ,a couple of years a go we were in Bluff getting ready to ride North ,we met a guy in a restaurant that was a business man in Kaikoura who insisted the way was nearly clear through to Blenheim ,The bastard lied, by the time we got through Cheviot the traffic was slowing noticeably ,half of us took a backroad detour back to Culverdon and the long way north and beat the rest to the campsite in Blenheim by that much we had all had showers put up tents ,gone to the pub and had tea, dropped into the wholesalers and were all half pissed by the time the others arrived who were all very unhappy, LOL.

  2. Today I saw a homeless man rescue a little boy from drowning, then save an old lady from getting run over. The whole time he was wearing a cape and singing some 1970’s progressive rock.
    Must’ve been Super Tramp.

    • Ross12 A very summation of choices.

A heart felt video by a Serbian, remembering the fraud elections back in 2000.
You will feel his desperation and frustration for the USA.

He feels for the American values, the freedom the USA represents.

He shows the hold socialism/communism has in Europe.

Fake news was all back then too.

“You will never be as weak as now,
You will never be as strong as now”.
      …… …… ……
“After that it is game over”

“You can not save people from themselves.
Can you save your self from your selves?”

He quotes a sentence from Alexander Solzhenitsyn a small part of “Gulag Archipelago” in the first 20 pages.
So many questions he raises from that.

      Refers to Matthew, 10: … Mark, 13: ….. Luke, 12: ….. (no “sermon”).

      “Choose your side!”
      Reason? Cuba?
      “What do you believe?”

And so raises a number of points & issues.

    • Thanks for posting Ross. Very poignant. You can feel his utter hatred for socialism. He implores Americans to rise up now and says if they don’t… His final line “don’t do anything, go to hell because you are”.

    • Guest posts by KIA & David Garrett are about the only things worth reading on the formerly great Kiwiblog. DPF has wandered off the reservation & the comments section resembles the children’s page in a church newsletter.

Times change & not always for the best.

    • I had this debate with media organisations before. They wrote a piece about earthquake risks, I don’t recall exactly when and I called them out because the headline said “Earthquake risk in Aoteoroa“. For foreign tourists, the headline should be the name of the country. If English is not your first language and you’re trying to catch up with the news while overseas it should be accurate. Their response was that it is commonly known, that it pays respect to Maori, etc. I asked them why they didn’t write the whole article in Maori then rather than just bastardising the title. But neither they nor the media council had an answer beyond “It’s to show respect and everybody will know what it means“.

    • Just what were her parents protesting about ? ? ?
      .
Why were they against the Shah, though not perfect,
      .
…… new educational policies designed to undercut clerical control over education and religious education.
The Literacy Corps also helped raise the literacy rate from 26 to 42 percent.
The White Revolution also included certain reforms of women’s rights.
Women gained the right to vote, {1963] to run for elected office and to serve as lawyers and later judges.
The marriageable age for women was also raised to fifteen. …..
      .
…. Though the White Revolution contributed towards the economic and technological advancement of Iran, the failures of some of the land reform programs and the partial lack of democratic reforms, as well as severe antagonism towards the White Revolution from the clergy and landed elites, would ultimately contribute to the Shah’s downfall and the Iranian Revolution in 1979.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Revolution
      .
A big change in Iran over16 years.
Never far enough, fast enough for those supposed “intellectual parents” that ignorantly got what they wished for: a revolution; and no power, control or gain for them.
      .
Daughter like parents, wants to do the same to NZ.

  4. I have been waiting to post the full Q+A interview of Chris Liddell this morning but TVNZ have only loaded two short clips. The interview clearly wasn’t what Jack Tame wanted to portrait. You could sense Tame’s petulance at not getting any dirt on Donald Trump, President of the free world and Liddell’s respected boss.

  5. AP@1402

A great idea with considerable merit. HOWEVER, as the Judges before-whom they’d be appearing would invariably be Democrat appointees (and ipso facto sympatisers to ‘The Cause’ of destroying the USA), retribution of any consequence would be unlikely to be meted-out.

‘Neutrality and impartiality before the law’ is not a strength in the US legal sector.

  6. In case you haven’t seen any mention of this in the NZ media (I haven’t but then I don’t watch or listen to any NZ media because I don’t like being lied to)

“The woman appointed by the World Health Organisation to investigate China’s response to the coronavirus outbreak is facing calls to resign over her close ties to Beijing.
Former New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark will co-chair the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response, which will examine accusations that China failed to alert the world to the looming Covid-19 catastrophe.”

    • The Brits are mighty pissed off with BJ- Johnson

His ‘slap and tickle’ of less than 2 years has taken up residence in number 10 and calling the shots.
      Getting senior aids fired.

One has to ask after a year of complete cockups by Johnson- Brexit failure to follow – whether the people would vote in Corbyn despite his absence of charisma and common sense.

We slap and tickle Carrie is the daughter of two journalists, was in journalism, then PR.
She has a role in ‘communications’
      Yay.
32 years old and woke they come.

Johnson has completely stuffed up on this one.

It is a mess over there not helped by lock-downs going into a British winter

  9. Opposition as NZ joins world’s largest free trade agreement

A lobby group concerned about a major trade deal New Zealand signed this evening says the Covid-19 pandemic provides a strong reason why such agreements should be ditched.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/world/opposition-nz-joins-worlds-largest-free-trade-agreement?auto=6209891000001

Fifteen countries in the Asia-Pacific region have signed the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) deal.

It’s the world’s largest free trade agreement, has been eight years in the making and came into fruition today via a virtual summit hosted in Vietnam.

The agreement encompasses Japan, China, South Korea, the 10 members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Australia and New Zealand, creating a free trade zone, which covers nearly a third of the world’s trade and economic output.

  11. Would be a most interesting interview, by the lefty but is being slowly ‘red-pilled’ Tim Pool, with ‘over the top’ Alex Jones, but it has been pulled.

The video had racked up almost a million views within 24 hours before it was taken down. …..
…… As with most of Jones’ guest appearances, the episode was hugely popular and racked up 999,000 views in less than 24 hours.
It also had a 99% approval rating with 92,000 likes to 1,300 dislikes.

    https://reclaimthenet.org/youtube-removes-alex-jones-tim-pool-podcast-episode/

Here is a part of the video
“Does the end justify the means?”
Timcast IRL – Alex Jones Talks Lockdowns, The Election With Tim Pool And Michael Malice

    November 12th, 2020

(which begins around 34:13 in the Odysee version of the video), Pool, Jones, and Malice were discussing Gates’ past comments on death panels and Jones made a sarcastic statement to highlight his disagreement with Gates’ perspective.

    Pay your way?
    Socialists will decide for you?

For me it is a part of it is a laugh, with some thinking, though some bits are crazy too and great weird imaginations.
Aware of Jones but never followed him. Still see him as an “odd ball” but then he has a good memory and knowledge.
In the mean time Tim Pool is trying to fact check, and keep to the points raised, and then keep the flow going,

Will go back to the start later and and there seems to be a few hours, that will cover many topics, with a laugh.

    • A bit bemusing as watching the vid,

Came up out about Tucker Carlson on Fox.
Alex Jones came out how Fox wants to fire him over what he is reporting regarding the Presidency election, and reports that;-
Tucker basically saying no problem, the opportunity is now for me to show the fraud voting systems, and start another network.
Also knowing the “whip lash” on Fox’s woke call on the election has weakened Fox.

      Got the balls?
      Grab the opportunity Tucker. 🙂
      What is your status?
      Ever lost anything?
Can you produce? Take a risk? skin in the game?

  12. Due to a lack of game time and play this year the IRB (international Rugby Board) are adding some new awards to maintain interest.

The All Blacks are widely expected to receive the inaugural award for :-
    ‘Best Hair and Nails’ //

They are not expected to any prizes for their rugby.

  13. Just watched the White island doco on tv1.
Rescue services have a lot to answer for about how long at was for the helicopters were mobilized!
There was a local helicopter landed on the island, with a fixed wing plane circling. It was communications relay on site. The emergency services did not believe the on site assessment and delayed response for two and a half hours!
I think from memory the chief plod was relieved toot sweet!
The St John man interviewed came across as an arsehole!

      • ACC work on schdeiles rates.

Eg tjhe Chinese kids that died in a building(CTV) that collapsed in Christchurch in Feb 2011 when it had been cleared as OK by the Council only received Several tens of thousands per person. plus funeral costs.
        As per schedule.
Despite in many cases being the only child and supporter of their Chinese parents in old age.
        No right to sue.
        Removed in 1973.

The concern is the ACC is now being exploited to make payouts to people who are simply F.I.TH.

    • Well that is a worry

Trying to learn something from TV1 – never watch it – when those dirt-bags are a part of the problem.

I followed the actual ‘news’ from Australian media.
The NZ stuff was complete crap and a day and a half behind what Australia and UK was reporting.
      It was appalling.
This is because they heavily sanitize what is reported in NZ.

I dont normally expect much from NZ media but heard about it at 5pm and when I was home at 9pm I took time to look it up.
      NZ media was crap.
      Off to overseas sources.
The Daily mail by then had a whole page describing what type of volcano it was, diagrams of the volcano, its history in the last 120 years, descriptions of the possible injuries, and so on.

NZ media filth – that would include TV1 if I was stupid enough to watch it – were just emotional sooky wankers in a fact free world.

Because of the terrible coverage and dreadful action by the pigs it became clear that they stuffed up at Pike river as well.
Cops don’t know much about anything. -like current MPs and Local Body Councillors
      Cops are order takers.
They have 3 months training – less than a nail technician.
The HNIC at the time was relieved of duty about the second day as he talked of prosecuting the rescue helicopter pilots.

St John is very political now.
From earlier this century the Auckland based St John set about taking over all the other districts in the country.
They succeeded except for Wellington – but they do first aid training there.
Then after a huge expansion, bitch about not enough funds.
      Too f…ing political.
