Morning Tarquin,
some news for you.
Wet and windy conditions on the way for Northland and AucklandClouds and rain moving into the north on Friday
A bout of low pressure is approaching the North Island, bringing cloudier, windier and wetter weather on Friday.
MetService meteorologist John Law said the cloud would start in Northland and reach down into Auckland City, Waikato and Bay of Plenty as the day progresses.
Nice of you to share with us.
You really need to deport that old girlfriend of yours so our weather settles down again. She is like the seven-year itch.
Another day of sun 29 degrees. I’ll just take up more usual spot at Hawea river. Plenty of time to read YSB. I’m starting to resemble a prune.
*morning V and everyone else. Getting real windy up here but no rain as yet, probably not far away. Reminds me of my Christmas holiday the only difference is the wind direction.
so long as you don’t take Mrs. Tarquin out in the cab things should be kinda ok.
Ideal weather to take the missus out for a sail.
Netanyahu says ‘last minute crisis’ with Hamas holding up approval of Gaza truce and hostage deal
Well of course there is.
https://www.stuff.co.nz/world-news/360550886/netanyahu-says-last-minute-crisis-hamas-holding-approval-gaza-truce-and-hostage-deal
He ain’t gonna let Biden get the kudos.
Netanyahu began signalling there were issues with the deal just hours after U.S. President Joe Biden and key mediator Qatar announced it was complete.
And a very good morning to you all my fellow YSB-ers. Tis almost time to arise and bravly go outside to experience yet another day another day in luxflakes NZ.
One wonders what PR stunts he’ll do today.
Yesterday it was all nice and lovely down on the farm with small children and cute little animals (Got to appeal to the Remmers and Fendalton mummies), and today? Who knows – anything to avoid accountability to those who voted for him, especially the 300,000 who submitted their thoughts about the ‘Racial Equality’ Bill; the one he’s boasted he’s going to kill. ..
He’s almost as useless as a certain Karen Bass (Today’s first meme), who very noticeably could not/cannot justify her actions in respect of the LA fires, and who (Despite previously having a LOT to say), when asked to do so by the Daily Mail (At LAX after coming back from her little Ghanaian excursion) just stood there mute.
All talk, no action when it matters, especially as it doesn’t affect her directly.
BTW: has anyone else noticed that with very rare exceptions, all socialists and communists, when brought to account for their actions either just stand there and say nothing or immediately beome abusive and attempt to blame the questioner? dl, luxflakes, albo, two-tier, sleepy joe: truedough; They all do it.
It’s the ‘socialist way don’t y’ know. Despite all of that, have a great day anyway and DLTBGYD – they’re always trying to..
Now on that treaty bill
Yep you guessed it.
MPs clash over in-person Treaty Principles Bill submissions
MPs are debating how to whittle down in-person submissions on the Treaty Principles Bill, leading to some tense exchanges about the contentious topic.
As a compromise, Stuff understands political parties will each hand-pick around 25 public submissions which will be heard by the full Justice Committee over the next few weeks.
That committee has been given the mammoth task of sorting through more than 300,000 written submissions about the bill and also listening to oral submissions.
The committee is limiting in-person submissions as it’s been instructed to return to Parliament with recommendations about the bill by around mid-year.
The Justice Committee met privately on Thursday afternoon to discuss the bill. Following the meeting, committee members told Stuff that MPs discussed how to choose which submissions to hear. They did not reach a final consensus, but they have agreed to split the oral submissions between subcommittees.
The whole committee will hear about 150 submissions. Two subcommittees will then meet for up to 30 hours, each, hearing public submissions.
Typically, groups or organisations are allocated 10 minutes to submit on a bill while personal submissions receive five minutes. That meant the subcommittees could hear about 450 submissions between them.
When the MPs met on Thursday, they were also told that the Office of the Clerk did not yet have a final tally for how many written submissions it received.
Over the past week, the committee discussed whether to allocate speaking slots to various “categories”, so that there would be a range of submitters stretching from academia to business and iwi leaders.
But Stuff understands it’s been difficult to reach agreement on what the categories should be. For instance, Opposition parties wanted the committee to dedicate submission time to hear from rangatahi.
One MP said there had been a clash between the ACT Party and everyone else about whether there should be a specific requirement to hear from Māori submitters or not.
So Luxon is going to stymie it but slagging it off. What a piece of shit the man is.
there’s more.
https://www.stuff.co.nz/politics/360550577/mps-clash-over-person-treaty-principles-bill-submissions
If anyone follows Whangarei Tim on youtube, there is a video of some woman doing her submission. The four people paid to listen to this rubbish will need intravenous alcohol by the end if they are all in the same vein.

Crazy eyes.
For more exciting stuff.
Jimmy Spithill, the straight-talking, tough-racing Aussie is here as chief executive of the Red Bull Italy SailGP team.
They’re in the 12-strong fleet racing in the Waitematā Harbour as the City of Sails hosts the Kiwi leg of the global competition for the first time.
Huge crowds are expected downtown to watch the boats go head to head at speeds that could top 100km/h.
“The Canadians were testing the first prototype of the T-foil in San Francisco and they got over 100 with no problem,” says Jimmy. “So there’s no doubt in my mind that, hopefully, this weekend, someone will break that pretty quickly.”
“When you’re doing these sorts of speeds, there’s no doubt there’s more risk. But if you asked any of the athletes and the people involved, they’d say it’s been a huge step forward. It’s much more like race car driving, and it’s much more exciting. I think people will be shocked when they see the speeds the boats are doing.
“Watching a race with two cars or two boats, if one gets ahead it’s not that compelling. When you’ve got 12 doing those sorts of speeds on the same race track right in front of the downtown here, that’ll be something to see.”
https://www.stuff.co.nz/culture/360550853/sail-gp-team-boss-jimmy-spithill-someone-will-break-100kmh
apart from the racing what is exciting is the technology that is being progressed to achieve this speed.
Very comparable to Rocket Lab. It has so many spin-offs as the ideas and technology is applied to other industries.
It’s where NZ should be going and its what our govt. should be encouraging instead of paying benefits to all and sundry.
Raising the boat.
And here I was thinking Mr Spithill was a New Zealand Resident as he certainly owns a very expensive Auckland property in which he has resided for some time, in fact he has been a close neighbour of Dean Barkers for some time.
At least with the shitty summer we are having, there should be no shortage of wind for the event.
So long as its not shifty like our PM and is constant then the rides will be fun.
If they can do this with boats, flying objects, then what could they do with planes for personal transportation?
I shudder to think of a million Aucklanders flying around in a personal flying machine.
Or self driving cars!
Crocs are not beautiful. Well, maybe the reptilian ones.
i mocked crocs and their wearers…. until i got a pair last month.
best footwear ive ever owned, light and dont even know youre wearing them. i wear them pretty much anytime im not working now and fucking excellent on the boat.
i had to apologise to my father for years of merciless mocking.
you can try that with some of us as well.
you will be wearing a halo before long. //////
if i become delussional, butthurt, a complete loser and it turns out i like it then yeah id apologize but i doubt ill get as minced as you and the other butthurt losers on here
I’ve got some to wear in the garden. 🤩 They are incredibly comfortable.
Do you find the dirt and shit come in the holes?
Raised garden beds these days Sooty. Any incoming is easily shaken out 🙂
I’ve got three pairs.
I have never even worn Crocs. Do you love them or hate them?
As long as they are genuine Crocs. The copy cat ones are cheap, crap and uncomfortable, genuine croc are very good, wear mine all year round just with socks in winter.
Well people that wear them luv them.
They still sell plenty so someone is wrong.
I have some without the holes in them, so I don’t get wet feet walking the dog in wet grass and everywhere else. Great shoes.
Must have a look on Temu
Got mine from the gardening section at Mega. American brand.

I went to Pak n Save, Royal Oak yesterday.
I can honestly say I paid for all my items
I have the receipt to prove it .
I did not even need to interact with security staff.
Nor did I see anyone wearing a keffiyeh , which is probably a good sign.
or even a keffiyeh patterned tote bag.
Interesting. The wine at New World – which is meant to be more expensive place- is cheaper or certainly has more deals on more items than P N S.
I was even looking for sub $10 red wine – I will leave that to El Cheapo-Sen.
But I still did not nick any.
Nor do I intend to vote for the commies posing as Green pardy now or any time ever.
This is a public service message brought to you by non-crims
“I will leave that to El Cheapo-Sen.”
Hey!
(The Jacobs Creek Cabernet Sauvignon of $6.95 a couple of years’ ago is now $9.95 on special.)
So yeah, El Cheapo-Sen
😲😁
Try Mc Guigans black label merlot with plenty of ice. Not a bad drop for the bucks.Keffiyehs are very good for shoplifting, Nothing says pious and woke like one of them and security won’t even look at you, they don’t want to get stabbed or even worse considered racist or non woke. You could always start a new fashion trend by running up a keffiyeh patterned onesie, imagine the sales opportunities in Mount Roskill! Don’t forget to follow me for more cutting edge fashion tips.
You could wear keffiyeh coloured crocs to be completely incognito
Just checked the cupboard. I have some McGuigans black label Cab Sav.
Red wine can wait for winter /After Easter.
Unless Pinot Noir.
I was in Mt Roskill after morning golf and googled ‘distance to Pak N Save’ . 8 mins to P N S Mt Albert and 14 Mins to Royal Oak.
Royal Oak it was.
And MT Albert is covered by a dodgy licensing trust for booze.
So more expensive I guess, not been there in years.
I think in all fairness that Golly Golriz should be checked for Thalidomide poisoning.
She displays symptoms where she can’t seem to get her own hands in her own pockets.
This may be the result of shortened arms from in utero exposure to Thalidomide
Her defense attorney should examine this angle.
🤥
————–
Fortuitous Fact
The FDA used to do its job when in fact it would not approve the use of Thalidomide in the USA, hence saving thousands of deformed babies.
left or right thalidomide? i think the left was the evil one??? and the right was the good useful one but someone cocked up and made and sold the wrong one.
Is Golly Golriz really just trolling Winona Horowitz, a.k.a . Winona Ryder, with the shop lifting gig?
Both have the crazy eyes , so there is that !!

“This Is Madness” | Officer Sacked After Posting ‘Hurty Words’ About Just Stop Oil
A UK officer has been sacked after he posted that Just Stop Oil activists are “like special needs kids”.
Glad he was sacked – special needs kids have more sense than the JSO protesters. No need to lump them together.
It’s the age of the euphemism because ‘feelz’. Fifty years they would have been referred to as intellectually handicapped & sanity along with plain English would have stood a chance
The police drunk on “wokery”.
As they see this as a way of increasing their powers & control over all.
I haven’t seen this previously. This Guy makes some very good points and comes up with some great ideas for elections. I found it very interesting.

Thank you for the ‘reassurance’. about the vaccines.
Out of interest, do you (Or indeed does anyone), know the names of the 17 members of the Investigation Committee, and if so (And in the interest of informing the public), can these be published please (Or does that somehow contravene the OIA)?
Thanks.
All the 17 names are here.

from page 6 – 9
Some may be known to others?
I do wonder if some of them were a part of the super secret cabal Medicine Assessment Advisory Committee (MAAC) that gave the ok for Pfizer mRNA vaxxes to proceed, to by-pass MedSafe as it did not give full approval?
Or are the MAAC members still in hiding?
Obviously nothing has noticeably changed or been noticed by these esteemed Doctors & Professors in New Zealand.
So move on, nothing to see, as Komata above notes, the “reassurance” loop.

Thanks for the link
I note thot not ONE of the names self-identifies as Maori, so we can now expect nationwide protests about the ommission from the usual suspects.

The latest Tax Payer Union / Curia poll is not looking good for NN and I presume it was taken before he made the comment about the TP bill.
https://www.taxpayers.org.nz/25jan_tuc_poll
While I think NN and co are arrogant enough to think, as SB suggested earlier in the other thread, that 90% of National voters will not change —it looks like that arrogance might be starting to get a few kicks in the rear end.
In today’s TPU email they also comment on the new head of the Public Service, Sir Bryan Roach and how he has hit the road running indicating he will be taking a hard approach (or put another way showing Willis how to do it )
” Roche says he wants fewer excuses and more action. Cutting to the heart of the issue, Roche reminded chief executives “[w]e are funded by one source of money — and that is the taxpayer — and…we need to try to simplify and streamline, not fragment and complicate. “
The letter he wrote to CEOs was in the NZH
I’ve just seen that the TPU email now has a facility to enable it to be linked. It is worth reading

Some scary stuff but not a surprise
Just face it. luxon is Thick.
Simple statement of fact.
They is an order taker and fits the corporate profile of ‘good boy/girl ‘
——————
Poll Results
Warning may include some scary shit …..
The poll sees National tumble 4.6 points to 29.6 percent
and Labour up 4.0 points to 30.9 percent.
The ACT Party are down 2.2 points to 10.8 percent,
whilst the Greens are up 1.2 points to 9.5 percent.
New Zealand First is up 2.7 points to 8.1 percent,
while Te Pāti Māori is down 0.2 points to 5.3 percent.
Converting the results to seats in Parliament, National and ACT would need NZ First to form a Government.
The total number of seats for the Centre-right is 62 (-6),
while the left has 58 seats (+6).
————————-
The net country direction is down a whopping 17 points
to negative 14 percent.
39 percent of New Zealanders think the country is headed in the right direction (down seven points),
while 53 percent say the wrong direction (up 11 points)
and 12 percent unsure.
End of Results
——————
Now I was saying in 2023 , consistently, that we are seeing a rerun of 1990
After 2 terms of liebour and huge changes with many adverse results, people voted notional – merely because they were not liebour.
Then a year in the regret sets in
In 1993 after 3 years of notional/ bolger the gnats only got in by a whisker.
Gnat 35.05%
Lieb 34.68%
As MMP showed in 1996, notional was not that popular.
redeeming feature…Just not liebour.
and voters have moved long way left, as have the politicians, in 30 years.
Before the end of the decade we will have another liebour-led govt- all things being equal- and the shit we see with Starmer and Albanese will roll out without resistance.
Executive summary
Christine luxon is a vile piece of globalist shite that is running the country to ruin.
of note
…the Greens are up 1.2 points to 9.5 percent…
That is a good result for them considering the rolling shit show they provided in 2024.
and not one replacement MP moved them any closer to sanity.
Greens also always do better than polling at election time
while ACT always do worse than polling in actual election results.
Been the case for at least 15 years.
for 7 elections in a row (A whole generation ) Greens have got more votes than ACT
and, Greens have 3 electorate MPs while ACT has 2.
And Epsom drops off in 2026 and part will go to Brook van velden electorate.
The chance of ACT having 2 MPs will drop away.
wellywood will remain mad and double down on Greens .
They had a ‘mad Green mayor’ before Tory so the voters are not perturbed
and Celia Wade-Brown, that mayor, is now a Green list MP
The easiest person to sell to is a salesperson. Their ego gets them everytime.
Luxon will buy anything that fashionable.
Not so sure that Wellington will keep voting Green. I overheard a woke muppet at work today, describing how bad he thought Tory Whanau is. If a dyed-in-the-wool, woke womble like that is fed up, maybe there’s hope?
Well at least Brian Roche is qualified and has actual experience in Commerce/Accounting
——-
He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington.[3] He started his working career with Coopers and Lybrand in 1979 as an accountant.[2] He stayed with the company, which later became PricewaterhouseCoopers, for 20 years and became a senior partner.
—————————————–
Nicola willy-less is just the Temu version of Ruthanasia Richardson.
Roache was in charge of the post office and their couriers are hopless and their systems even worse.
I said he was qualified
I did not say he was good.
Better to have some qualifications than none at all as nicki Willy-less has (i.e. none)
Roche
Yes NZ Post was poorly run under him. It was declining and he used all sorts of crap excuses and never cut costs soon enough to match a sunset business.
Also
1.
In the 1990s, he was chief Crown negotiator for Treaty of Waitangi claims and settlements; he had a major influence on the 1997 Ngāi Tahu settlement.
yep yep
giving away our money
2.
In 2008, he was appointed the inaugural chairman of the NZ Transport Agency
That was a disaster merger in mid 2008 as another FU from Cullen.
It has always been bad.
Never sorted systems and methods, nor command lines.
and
On 11 June 2019, Roche commenced his second term as chairman of the NZ Transport Agency
So this disastrous outfit that cant build roads that last 6 months without resurfacing has him at the top

Minister overhauls Waitangi Tribunal membershipOn Friday, Potaka confirmed sweeping changes to the Tribunal’s membership. He announced another eight new appointments, and said he was renewing the warrants of just five existing members.
By bringing in 10 new members, some senior academics from te ao Māori will leave the Tribunal as their warrants expire in the coming weeks.
Those whose warrants have not been renewed included Professor Linda Tuhiwai Smith, Professor Tom Roa and Professor Rawinia Higgins.
Those three professors are some of the country’s most highly regarded experts in mātauranga Maori. Smith is a distinguished professor at Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi; Roa is a reo Māori and tikanga expert at Waikato University; and Higgins is a Māori language commissioner and chairperson at Te Taura Whiri i te reo Māori, and deputy vice-chancellor of Victoria University.
Potaka did renew the warrants of Professor Sir Pou Temara, Dr Hana O’Regan, Kim Ngarimu, Derek Fox, Dr Ruakere Hond and Kevin Prime.

Apple halts AI feature that made iPhones ‘hallucinate’ about news and make up factsApple is temporarily disabling a feature of its marquee Apple Intelligence software that botched summaries of news headlines.
On Thursday (Friday NZT), Apple released a beta update to its software that disables Apple Intelligence summaries of notifications from news and entertainment apps.
All iPhones that support Apple Intelligence will get the update when iOS 18.3 gets a wide release in the near future.
It’s a rare admission of product failure by the iPhone maker — and the latest indication that tech giants are struggling to overcome the propensity of generative artificial intelligence software to “hallucinate,” or make up facts.
