While oil was not the only objective in effecting regime change in Venezuela, it is certainly an important one. The U.S. is the largest oil producer in the world surpassing both Russia and Saudi Arabia. Venezuela has the largest proven oil reserves of any country in the world. The oil industry in Venezuela is decrepit due to corruption and neglect. Venezuela’s oil output is tiny relative to its reserves and its potential. The U.S. will rely on ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips and Chevron to invest in Venezuela (after receiving back all of their expropriated properties and oil concessions) and gradually move Venezuela back into the ranks of major producers. The combination of U.S. and Venezuela oil output in this scenario puts the U.S. in the position of a mini-OPEC with the capacity to set the world price of oil by increasing or decreasing output. That’s powerful enough by itself, but the ripple effects extend around the world. China depends on Venezuelan oil along with imports from Saudi Arabia. The U.S. now controls the Panama Canal, which is a chokepoint for Venezuelan oil exports to China. To some extent, the U.S. could dictate the price and supply of oil to China. The Communist regime in Cuba is utterly dependent on cheap Venezuelan oil. Trump will embargo the export of Venezuelan oil to Cuba, which could increase social unrest there. Using this channel, Trump may be able to achieve regime change in Cuba without invading and without firing a shot. Likewise, the U.S. could threaten to lower the world price of oil to $25.00 per barrel. This would severely damage Russia’s energy-based economy and bring President Putin to make concessions to end the war in Ukraine, which he has so far been unwilling to do. Cheaper oil due to increased U.S. and Venezuelan output could also solve the affordability crisis affecting everyday Americans. Slower inflation is not enough because it comes on top of the Biden regime price increases. But $25.00 oil would produce deflation and actually lower prices across the board. Oil prices affect not just the price of gas at the pump but the price of everything because of transportation costs.
Venezuela has significant gold reserves. Their mining industry has also fallen into disrepair because of corruption and neglect. It is reasonable to expect that the Venezuelan mining and minerals sector will attract new investment from the U.S. and elsewhere, and will increase its output in the years ahead. But this will have very little impact on the price of gold. This is because it will take some years to put the Venezuela gold mining sector back on its feet. Then the output of gold has to be weighed against the cost of production. It’s not as if you just pull gold out of the ground. There are huge costs in terms of water, energy, labor, capital costs, transportation, etc. Gold is a world commodity with a world price. Gold’s fungibility means that if Russia (a major gold producer itself) does not buy Venezuelan gold, it can just buy gold in London or Shanghai. So, Venezuelan gold output will expand, but it will have little impact on the world price of gold or its availability to willing buyers.

China buys a lot of gas and oil from Russia, India buys all over the place, Asia buys a lot of Aussie gas, and Europe will go back to buying Russian oil and gas. At the moment, they have been screwed by the Yanks, but they will fix that. Germany and Russia have been trading for centuries and that’s not about to stop. Lots of German companies in Russia, but bugger all American ones, not even Starbucks or the Big Mac.
More likely that NATO will become redundant, and Turkey wants oil as well.

Trump is interested in 3 things: stopping people from being killed in unnecessary wars, stopping the drugs and illegals into America and anything that will benefit America.
As to his claim that their military is the best in the world.
Well, think back a few years when the Israelis rescued a plane load of people from darkest Africa.
And never underestimate what the Russians are capable of.
They have a functioning health system, they have good universities, they have access to most countries, they are the biggest country in the world, and they are not controlled by large corporations that produce anti-people food and drugs.
They haven’t made a practice of invading other countries, and they have stuck to the agreements they have made. Not an American trait.
Americans are not the most liked people in many countries, followed by their puppet masters in the City of London.
And they have a war failure rate second to none. You can include Ukraine in that, as it will be.
They can’t manage their corruption at all as we have seen, and it will have even more exposed.
At least in Russia, if you get caught being corrupt, then it’s the gulag for you if you survive, but in America, they are hero’s.

If the Brits put soldiers into Greenland, it will halfway go to addressing the USA’s security concerns there without needing to purchase Greenland or having to spend billions every year to subsidise it.
