🤣🤣🤣 mark mitchell, youve gotta be fucking joking.

Where is our Trump with bigly balls? If Nats want to win they need to appoint a common sense, no-nonsense, economically literate PM. Cut out the waste, the state approved apartheid system funnelling taxpayers hard earned money to the special elites. The priority is cutting red tape to get the economy working. Firstly, get rid of that useless Nicola Willis disaster as finance minister.
Anyway you cut it my vote won’t be going to Nats unless they pull a rare jewel of a leader out of the hat this morning and I can’t see that happening.
I agree. Nude Nut has the nerve to use the air force as his private airline then tries to justify it (there was no justification IMO). Meanwhile, I know someone in a sheltered home who rarely gets out because the funding covers one carer for three special needs adults, and that basically precludes outings.
I know which special needs individual I’d rather spend my taxes on, and it isn’t Il Douche.

Luxon and charisma don’t belong in the same sentence . You little mate winston has got just as much chance of some time as pm which ever way this goes . I think national has got plenty of potential leaders but they have been bullied by party management into the woke wet luxon .
T, I agree with you, now is a very dumb time to get rid of Nude Nut. I wonder why the media have been claiming ” the phones are ringing”. Is it because the lying piece of shit, Hipkins is slumping in the Polls and the MSM need to do something about it and claim, te tele fone, is jangling?
Not so sure. If there is a leader there that we haven’t picked out, then they may rise or change their policies. Had a conversation with one recently and basically, if you are commercial in any sense, then you don’t fit. If you are not a left footer, you don’t fit, so they narrow down the leadership to following the left footers club.
Might be bloody good if they had a more commercial leader. Might be better if they chose their leader like the Labour Party. Voted on by the caucus or even if the country voted for a leader rather than leaving it to them. That would be interesting.
I ended up having a beer with Lloyd Budd the other day, first time I’ve met him he’s Shane Reti’s replacement in Whangarei. He’s a real estate agent and definitely sounds like one, nice family and a couple of normal kids. He actually seems like a pretty good bloke, he’s very focused on getting ahead and taking Northland with him. Complete opposite to Shane who was a hell of a nice bloke but pretty useless. He is totally different to any National M.P we’ve had up here, John Elliot, John Banks, Phil Heatly were all career style M.P’s who were there for years but this guy is completely different and I’m quite surprised and very pleased National chose him. About time National actually did something for Whangarei.
I knew Phil reasonably well back in those days – the outfit I was working for did quite a bit of work for him. A lovely bloke who really cared, his biggest claim to fame was being able to sit in parliament endlessly when something needed to be pushed through. A classic country National politician, basically a drone who new the right people and booked up a couple of bottles of wine to the wrong account.
yep he was the fisheries minister when I first met him. Been down in the Deep South to have a look around. Was a bit pissed off when he got done over. People like Key always pick on who they perceive as weak of he has some other leverage on them. Basically a coward IMHO.
Costs of elite sport: The sacrifices behind Bay of Plenty’s rising athletes
A six-figure family investment, 40-hour work weeks alongside training, and years of fundraising.
Those are some of the hidden costs behind young New Zealand athletes pursuing opportunities on the world stage.
Whether it’s basketball in the United States, rowing at Oxford or competing against the world’s best runners, athletes and their parents say success comes down to “sacrifice” and “compromise”.
They have choices, and it’s their burden to carry. No reason why a taxpayer should front for this nor many other nice-to-haves, when they have their own issues.

It is just possible, if highly unlikely, that someone in that word salad does something useful but separate ministries with their attendant bureaucrats are not justified.
And as survivors we do not need a half arsed army of bureaucrats to patronise us & shuffle suitably letter headed paper. Nor a $250,000 pa Minister to waffle on our behalf.
If the answer to any problem involves the like of Margaret Shields, Lianne Dalziel, Maggie Barry or Ginny Anderson then it was a lost cause anyway.
“There was a confidence vote in my leadership this morning at our caucus meeting. I had the full support of our caucus, and our caucus is united and it is determined to win this election,” Christopher Luxon said in very brief remarks, with his most senior ministers standing behind him.”
I would venture the caucus could not agree on a suitable successor to Luxon. Bishop was not worth considering, Stanford is too woke. So back to Luxon. Not because they like him, but simply no one else could get enough support. If these fuckwits cannot agree on this how can we expect them to run the country???????
Bishops a buffoon. Stanford’s a hot piece of a…I mean Stanford doesn’t really have much to offer in the way of any policy that’s going to benefit Nil Ziland, apart from that hot little a…nothing at all that I heard.
I’m inclined to go along with you on this one. Luxon has taken National into a position where anyone of the right, other than welded on supporters, is going to give their vote to another party which will actually deliver on National’s principles.
They’ve lost their way. We may yet see a coalition of the right scrape through but it will be a National scorched & weakened by Luxon’s fucked leadership that will be part of it.
I venture to say that there may well be a push internally to get to grips with changing at least some of their policies. They all kow the presure is on and the caucus will exert that pressure to change or loose their jobs.
It would be better for National were they to do some serious navel gazing but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting. Muldoon was an outlier in that he listened & connected to the average voter yet few of the National Party before or since have much exercised their political antennae.
MMP has few pluses but it does provide viable options when traditional political parties become tone deaf to the electorate.
Muldoon was a nasty arsehole except when in front of the camera’s. A corp[oral that became an accountant but had no idea about people. Much like the slimy Bolger after him. (Is that bastard buried yet?)
He just missed his chance to keep walking.
Trouble is now they’ve scared the horses. “My whole caucus are behind me”. Yep, they sure are – with knives.
Luckily I don’t think it’s a bad thing that Labour/TPM/Greens/TOP get to govern. They’ll fuck it up so royally that we shouldn’t see another Left government in a generation.
Saggy, they said that in 2023, that after the sewrage pipe that was Labour from 2017, Labour would not control the Treasury Benches for years, but here they are teetering on the edge of control again.
Trouble is most of the population don’t understand turning the financial hosepipe of debt around takes a lot longer and a lot more than changing the party that caused it! Willis has been a dud but Labour turned the pumps on full blast.
bwahaha it sure was HP.
on the flipside nats could fuck this up so bigly that the left get a generation in power…. with how hard up lots of folk are and kiwis gimme gimme mentality, once the “free stuff” starts flowing again its gunna be a hard addiction to stop

Contrast between Winston and Luxon in handling the msm
vote national in september and youll probs get 4 different leaders over 3 years. the leadership attacks wont stop from the msm until hes gone…. then theyll reset and start over on the next victim.
unless new faces come in this election which looks extremely unlikely then theyre stuck with the same problem next term if they govern.
nats are too fucking cowardly to take an axe to state funded media in order to teach them a fucking lesson and put them in their place… all cuz the last of their boomer voters might revolt if they dont have 6pm news

Chris Penk demoted from all ministerial portfolios & positions by Luxon.
As he wrote the letter of challenge this week.
Goldsmith picks up some of those places.
Phil Goff
I was in Parliament this morning and when National’s caucus finished, I rushed down to hear the Prime Minister’s standup to find out what had happened.
I missed it.
It lasted 76 seconds with no questions. The PM said his caucus was united and he had their full support. Different story yesterday when he said “division and disunity are a major distraction only 90 days out from the election”. Having to call for a second vote of confidence in yourself within 3 months has to be damaging to National.
After prime minister Christopher Luxon survived his second confidence vote this year to remain National Party leader, a political commentator says National needs to get back to announcing policies again because they’re at risk of the public thinking they’re too focused on themselves, which could be “lethal.”
Speaking after Wednesday’s caucus meeting Luxon said he survived a second confidence vote, and he has “the full support” on National’s caucus.
Political commentator David Farrar told interest.co.nz that if National did nothing for the next few days, people would keep talking about this so the party needed to show they had a policy programme. Farrar is the owner and director of Curia Market Research and has worked as a parliamentary staffer to several National leaders.
He said what happened with National and the second confidence vote was messy.
“Having two leadership votes in three months is not good but they’ve chosen stability, and that’s what they now just have to get on [with],” Farrar said.
Winners: Luxon and the Co-alition in General

The Left in general, and Hipkins as he was hoping like mad for chaos that did not eventuate.

.Simply means the Nats will do fuck all for the next few months. The problem is not solved. The PM clown thinks, his way or the highway.
Threatened by his teammate.Shows his mind is determined to continue with his way, which the voters don’t like. And even more obvious is the lie that the clown PM told. Did you notice it?
and our caucus is united.
If he thinks sacking a person after that statement isn’t a contradiction, then he is dumber than he realises.
Especially when it’s clear there was more than one person who wanted change.
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has punished National MP and cabinet minister Chris Penk, accusing him of launching a leadership challenge.
Penk, widely said to be an up and comer, has had his ministerial portfolios removed.
“Chris Penk launched a leadership challenge this week, which resulted in today’s confidence vote. This makes his role untenable and as such I have removed his portfolios,” Luxon said.
Penk’s Defence, Veterans, Space, GCSB, and NZSIS portfolios will go to Paul Goldsmith, and Simon Watts will become Minister for Building and Construction.

Well he would do that wouldn’t he. Knee jerk reaction attempting to impress all and sundry that there is a strong arm in office. So you had better watch out! You do not fix a problem by finding someone else to blame for your own shortcomings and which led directly to the situation of today. Sometimes I wonder if this Prime Minister schooled himself for a political career via the Junior Woodchuck Manual, that was so handy to Donald Duck’s nephews.
Can’t help themselves, the pricks.
Giving more of the taxpayers’ money away.
$31m minerals plant to bring up to 200 jobs to SouthlandAt full capacity, the facility will process 250,000 tonnes of olivine rock and create up to 200 full-time roles in Southland.
A Christchurch-based company will develop Southland’s first critical minerals production facility and has received $15 million from the Government to make it happen.
Aspiring Materials’ proposed $31m commercial-scale plant will produce critical minerals and essential materials from quarry waste, while generating 5000 tonnes of green hydrogen per annum as a by-product.
The Southland site location is expected to be confirmed in the coming months, with operations to commence in late 2028.
At full capacity, the facility will process 250,000 tonnes of olivine rock and create up to 200 full-time roles in the region.
These will include highly skilled chemical and mechanical engineering roles as well as logistics, trade and services jobs. Further employment will come from the construction of the plant.
Following on from the successful pilot plant in Christchurch, the public financing, along with private and venture capital, will fund the build of the major new facility.
Erica Standford was shown on propaganda tv ignoring the media while marching through the airport with a face like thunder. Did she throw Penk under the bus?
So Penk sees & knows things we do not know.
An electorate seat Kaipara with a 19,000 majority, which has been his choice to resign from.
Would he lose that seat, if he then just sat quiet, as a National Party member.
Remember Penk came into that seat after John Key resigned.
It will take some time, but now one can figure that some have underestimated Luxon?
Or has Luxon had some good luck?
What card, an ace?, some facts, that bought them to heel again, that Luxon revealed at the meeting?
What makes me see is that Net Zero Carbon, Climate Change Commissioners and all those regulatory quangos, NGO’s with Judicial powers, of no accountability.
Very much a part of Luxon’s wokism
The other aspect is like with Tama Potaka, the Waitangi Commission which already has in place a few thousand obligations, that will become more like rulings, & will become enforcable.
All lining up to continue in the activation of the He Puapua report to bring about, not just Co-Governance.
But beware there are others who are ok with the tracking on to He Puapua, but it will be easy to head on to a a country that will have all the so called indigenous controls to run Aaooteeaarooaa.
So it becomes the National Party in name only, but is it being set up to become the Luxon Party, & with supporting acolytes?
He might not be the last one to toss in the towel. Bayly is quitting and there are others that are pissed with the lack of doing anyhting. I can only see the Nats getting a bloody hiding for not doing the things they said they would.
Luxon is power mad, to follow the WEF. agenda.
At the end of today, they have lost.
Why would anyone stay that had any gumption? Just why?
That’s about 5 or 6 people that the useless chrome dome has fired. Penk should have resigned and joined Act in that seat. He would romp in.
Taxes are like acorns: they start small, then they grow. ACT would rather cut waste than find new ways into your wallet. Party Vote ACT for no new taxes.
Labour leads National as Opportunity Party hits 8% in 1News-Verian pollThe Opportunity Party has surged well above the 5% threshold, potentially giving it a decisive role in forming the next Government, according to the latest 1News-Verian poll.
The poll, carried out from August 8 to 11, put Labour on 30%, down two percentage points from the previous poll, while National was unchanged on 29%.
The Greens fell one point to 12% and Te Pāti Māori dropped one point to 1%.
Among the coalition parties, Act gained three points to sit at 9%, while New Zealand First fell three percentage points to 8%.

Its the scum Media. Nothing else. They need to be seen to be relevant. Winston for all his faults knows how and when to tell them to get fucked.
The media have form of interfering in party politics…
“No matter what we say, no matter what we do we just can’t get the polls to shift”
– Katie Bradford, propaganda news a few years ago
Nothings changed, except possibly her standards in giving a shag for info. Useless tart.
Actually met Heatly a couple of times. Used to holiday down at Ohiwa. Liked the guy. reckon Key shafted him in favour of someone else.

Luxon is pleading for his job about now.
When you are level pegging with that ginger cunt,
It’s never too late to put him out of our misery!!!
National really need to think, is he bringing in votes or driving them away!!!
BREAKING NEWS: Auckland Blues practice was delayed two hours today after a player found an unknown white powdery substance on the field. The coach immediately suspended practice and called the police. After analysis, experts confirmed it was the goal line. Practice resumed once officials decided the Blues were unlikely to see it again this season.

Maurice Williamson On Changes In Leadership In The Nats

LIVE: Will Luxon Survive National’s Leadership Showdown?
Duncan Garner with Annie O’Brien and Maurice Williamson
Pulling a name out of the ether, Simeon Brown has come through all the noise and won the leadership.
Luxon’s seen them off. What an unnecessary cluster!
Dead man walking.
He is only dead at this point WG, because the MSM want it that way as their bum boy the Eternal Liar, Hipkins ain’t doing so well.
How’s the winter in the central Nth fog and cold AH?
“There was a confidence vote in my leadership this morning at our caucus meeting. I had the full support of our caucus, and our caucus is united and it is determined to win this election,” Christopher Luxon said in very brief remarks, with his most senior ministers standing behind him.”
https://www.stuff.co.nz/politics/361017190/live-christopher-luxon-leadership-vote
The issue has been put to bed. The MSM will be undone.
Move along, nothing to see here… “We’re going back to work”
FFS.
Just as well we have NZFirst and ACT. These two and a minor national will be the answwer.
I liked Luxons press conference, short and to the point then he walked away. Brilliant, he needs to do that more often.
It would take more than a generation to recover from that, if recovery was even possible.
Trouble is most of the population don’t understand turning the financial hosepipe of debt around takes a lot longer and a lot more than changing the party that caused it! Willis has been a dud but Labour turned the pumps on full blast.
The Generation gap must be getting shorter, isn’t that what was said in 2023.
bwahaha it sure was HP.
on the flipside nats could fuck this up so bigly that the left get a generation in power…. with how hard up lots of folk are and kiwis gimme gimme mentality, once the “free stuff” starts flowing again its gunna be a hard addiction to stop
Contrast between Winston and Luxon in handling the msm
Stupid question from reporter

Luxon would have walked straight into that question.
Hopefully there will be large numbers of pissed-off Nat voters who will head to NZF or ACT. I know I would if I was a Nat voter.
vote national in september and youll probs get 4 different leaders over 3 years. the leadership attacks wont stop from the msm until hes gone…. then theyll reset and start over on the next victim.
unless new faces come in this election which looks extremely unlikely then theyre stuck with the same problem next term if they govern.
nats are too fucking cowardly to take an axe to state funded media in order to teach them a fucking lesson and put them in their place… all cuz the last of their boomer voters might revolt if they dont have 6pm news
LOOK FFS !!
all National needs to do is ask Scitter Du Plessis-Alan how to run the fucken country

Chris Penk demoted from all ministerial portfolios & positions by Luxon.

Wanna know the problem?
National Party president Sylvia Wood.
Need a tough bastard like Chapman was.

Some are Collins ‘ lot. He will have a bunch behind him for sure
.Simply means the Nats will do fuck all for the next few months.
Especially when it’s clear there was more than one person who wanted change.
https://www.interest.co.nz/public-policy/139787/pm-and-national-leader-christopher-luxon-punishes-chris-penk-saying-he
Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has punished National MP and cabinet minister Chris Penk, accusing him of launching a leadership challenge.
Penk, widely said to be an up and comer, has had his ministerial portfolios removed.
“Chris Penk launched a leadership challenge this week, which resulted in today’s confidence vote. This makes his role untenable and as such I have removed his portfolios,” Luxon said.
Penk’s Defence, Veterans, Space, GCSB, and NZSIS portfolios will go to Paul Goldsmith, and Simon Watts will become Minister for Building and Construction.
by Foxglove | 12th Aug 26, 5:36pm
Well he would do that wouldn’t he. Knee jerk reaction attempting to impress all and sundry that there is a strong arm in office. So you had better watch out! You do not fix a problem by finding someone else to blame for your own shortcomings and which led directly to the situation of today. Sometimes I wonder if this Prime Minister schooled himself for a political career via the Junior Woodchuck Manual, that was so handy to Donald Duck’s nephews.
Nah just too many ministers to be laid off.
They were too lazy to get the numbers, nor truly count up the numbers.
Simple decision, if you are not standing shoulder to shoulder in support with Luxon at todays short press conference, you are over rover.
I understand ^Penk^ did not attend.
Perhaps had principles? or not?
Funny he is in Kaipara electorate; a neighbouring electorate of Matt King’s Northland electorate.
Good comments about todays PM vote

Is it a grant or is the taxpayer getting shares?
Grant as I recall.
Penk said he would not stand for reelection in November’s general election.
https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/politics/975747/chris-penk-quits-after-failed-luxon-leadership-challenge
So who controls who; Who will be selected for this blue ribbon electorate?
Who is next? Penk wasn’t the only one pissed off.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4Orvlzua_c
