  1. This week, Indiana, Oklahoma, and Texas joined 19 other Republican-led states moving to drop the $300 weekly federal jobless benefit boost in a bid to encourage the unemployed to get back to work amid sky-high levels of job openings and business hiring woes.

The move by the three states to opt out of the $300 top-up—which was part of President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan—brings the number of states to do so to 22.

    https://www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_breakingnews/number-of-states-dropping-federal-jobless-boost-rises-to-22_3823638.html?utm_source=newsnoe&utm_medium=email2&utm_campaign=breaking-2021-05-20-1&mktids=0d032aee5ca88f5b1728998ec60e5130&est=jMiJkwD5N5BYNZRhficT%2FaQpwHMajJdFFfUXb93iokikN9XV1GYcCaYX9woza1M%3D

In the letter—co-signed by McCarthy and Reps. Steve Scalise (R-La.), Kevin Brady (R-Texas), and Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.)—the Republicans said they’ve heard from “countless Main Street employers who are struggling to hire the workers they need, due in large part to enhanced federal unemployment insurance benefits.”

“Unfortunately, we are now seeing the negative consequences of these misaligned economic incentives,” McCarthy and his colleagues wrote. “An estimated 40 percent of the unemployed now earn more staying at home than working, causing severe labor shortages across the country” and impacting a number of industries.

Is this not the same here?
It is about to get worse.
According to cundy well informed circus we can produce more with less.
although it is to be noted we are not reducing the political overlord numbers in any way more the public servant numbers so it seems that it only works for tax paying employers.

  2. Kiwi stargazers will next week be treated to the rare combination of two lunar spectacles – a “blood supermoon”.

Blood moons – also known as total lunar eclipses – occur when the Earth lines up between the Moon and the Sun.

This hid the Moon from sunlight and blocked most of the blue light, with the remaining light refracting onto the Moon’s surface and causing a red glow.

A “supermoon”, meanwhile, occurred when the Moon is at its closest point in its orbit around Earth – making it appear much larger than usual.

The lunar eclipse was due to last five hours, beginning at 8.47pm next Wednesday, and ending at about 1.49am the next morning.

  3. A man and a woman were having a quiet, romantic dinner in a fine restaurant.
They were gazing lovingly at each other and holding hands.
The waitress, taking another order at a table a few steps away,
suddenly noticed the woman slowly sliding down her chair,
under the table and under the table cloth but the man stared straight ahead.
The waitress watched as the woman slid all the way down her chair
and totally out of sight under the tablecloth.
Still, the man stared straight ahead.
The waitress, thinking this behaviour a bit risque
and worried that it might offend other diners,
went over to the table and, tactfully, began by saying to the man:
“Pardon me, but I think your wife just slid under the table.”

The man calmly looked up at her and said:
“No, she hasn’t… she just walked in.”

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2021/05/predictions-house-prices-will-stop-going-up-rapidly-ufo-stuff-simon-bridges.html

Appearing on The AM Show on Friday, Labour MP David Parker said the 0.9 percent figure was down to the housing boom, with consents at their highest in nearly 40 years.

“One of the reasons house price inflation is predicted to essentially disappear is we’re building so many houses now in this country,” he said.

“House markets are never linear – they get really, really frothy, and then they settle down. They’ve been really, really frothy, and now they’re settling down.”

Bridges, appearing with Parker, was as sceptical as The X-Files’ Dana Scully.

BBC journalist lied to get infamous interview with Princess Diana, inquiry finds
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2021/05/bbc-journalist-lied-to-get-infamous-interview-with-princess-diana-inquiry-finds.html
Dyson’s report found that Bashir, then a little-known reporter, had shown Spencer fake bank statements suggesting that Diana was being bugged by the security services and that two senior aides were being paid to provide information about her.

“Mr Bashir deceived and induced him to arrange a meeting with Princess Diana,” the report said. “Mr Bashir acted inappropriately and in serious breach of the 1993 edition of the Producers Guidelines on straight dealing.”

    • Bashir is a weasely Urdu speaking little fuck.

      I said this decades ago.

I wanted to understand more about Michel Jackson.
Was he really a creep with kids or a just a very weird (wacko) dude.
Bashir’s documentary (sic) was a straight out hit piece with zero (or negative ) merit.
Bashir had 8 months full access to Jackson and all he had was innuendo.
      No proof.
Extrapolation and opinion but zero facts.

I am no wiser on Jackson
But I am wise to the lying BBC* cunt Bashir.

      *BBC= Buggering British Children-
there was plenty of places the bugger Bashir could have looked including inside the BBC and found actual proof of this instead of wasting 8 months to come up with bullshit and amateur theories about Jackson.

Bashir is representative of the crooked BBC and it is pathetic if they try to distance themselves from him now.
They are one and the same – Scum together.

However it is possible that Bashir is (was) not as bad as his fellow BBC employee Jimmy Savile !

When is someone going to grab Willie and Harry by their thick ears and tell them their fucking stupid mummy died because she was too arrogant/stupid to wear a safety belt in a fast moving vehicle.

In Britain car manufacturers have had to install seatbelts since 1965 but the law requiring drivers to wear them did not come in to force for another 18 years. In 1991 the law changed again making it a legal requirement for adults to wear seatbelts in the back of cars.

  13. From Good Returns website.
“The centre piece of this year’s Budget is a lift to benefit payments, and this may be good news for property investors.

Main benefits will be lifted between $32-55 a week and student support increases $25 a week from April 1, 2022.

These increases could lead investors to increase rents, however Robertson says that is unlikely to happen.”

Haha. Idiot. You screwed us with interest deductibility so we put rents up to cover that.
In 11 months, I shall increase rents again by 10% .
    We will always win, Robbo.

  14. The Hon David Seymour MP

    Dear David,

On behalf of my colleagues at Pfizer I wish to congratulate you on your courageous speech in support of the NZ Governments fix for the Medicines Act in the house recently. It is a shame that you had to leave Bellamys so soon to attend. Without support from outstanding MP’s like yourself conspiracy theorists like Sue Grey may gain support and undermine our primary goals, which are to maximise profits and of course pay juicy bonuses to me and my colleagues.
Your actions also help us avoid irritating questions from the likes of medsafe. Really how can anyone expect us to provide long term safety data on our experimental vaccines when the data doesn’t exist!
Thank you also for participating in our trial by submitting to your first jab. I am happy that you realise that the deadly consequences of the Sars Cov 2 virus must be avoided at all cost, after all the survival rate from the virus in your age group, is a mere 99.97%. Thank you for confirming to the house that you are still alive after your shot and I want to confirm to you that at Pfizer we pay no attention to claims on social media that to take the shot you must be at least brain dead.
Finally can we rely on your support to encourage the NZ Government to continue the vaccine rollout in NZ especially to children who as you probably know only have a survival rate from covid 19 slightly higher than your own.

    Yours in profit,

    Pfizer

  15. The crime of apartheid is defined by the 2002 Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court as inhumane acts of a character similar to other crimes against humanity “committed in the context of an institutionalized regime of systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over any other racial group or groups and committed with the intention of maintaining that regime”.

On 30 November 1973, the United Nations General Assembly opened for signature and ratification The International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid. It defined the crime of apartheid as “inhuman acts committed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining domination by one racial group of persons over any other racial group of persons and systematically oppressing them”.

Aotearoa is apparently NOT a signature.

  17. From a newsletter from the New Conservative Party.

    A Pattern of Behaviour

After a legal challenge from Sue Grey, the High Court ruled that the government’s provisional approval of the Pfizer vaccine “went beyond the powers of section 23 of the Medicines Act.” The government responded with urgent legislation to retroactively make it legal. When the Auditor-General ruled that the government’s Ihumatao purchase was unlawful, the government responded by retroactively making it legal. Before that, the High Court ruled that the first nine days of lockdown were unlawful, which the government just ignored. Most recently, the SFO charged six people over illegal Labour Party donations, and the Prime Minister responded to say she would look at changing electoral financing law.

A pattern of behaviour showing a total disregard for the rule of law has emerged. Our government flippantly breaks the law then retroactively legalises their actions, without public input through the Select Committee process or meaningful debate in the House.

New proof that political corruption in NZ media goes right to the top. The NZ media is refusing to hold the powerful to account and has been utterly corrupted by means of its financial attachment to government. It has completely betrayed its obligations to our Westminster democracy for the sake of miserable coin stolen from the taxpayer and handed to it by the slovenly group of vote buying losers led by Jacinda Ardern.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern confident Budget 2021 benefit boost won’t spark rent increases
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2021/05/prime-minister-jacinda-ardern-confident-budget-2021-benefit-boost-won-t-spark-rent-increases.html

“On rents, one thing I would say is people have raised the question: will these increases in main benefits go directly to rent increases or cause rents to go up?” Jacinda Ardern told reporters on Friday.

“We went back through the evidence, through recent times [when] we’ve had changes to the amount of assistance people receive, and we haven’t seen a correlation that rents go up as a result.”

  21. Muriel Newman’s Centre for Political Research has posted two submissions on the proposed history cirriculum that all thinking Kiwis must read.

    First, by Professor Martin Devlin
    https://www.nzcpr.com/the-new-zealand-schools-history-curriculum/

    Then, from Roger Childs:
    https://www.nzcpr.com/submission-on-new-zealand-history-in-the-new-zealand-curriculum/

Both go to great lengths to highlight the dangers of rewriting history without a proper, unbiased grounding in provable fact . As Childs says, The language of the document is loaded with too many unsubstantiated opinions and value judgements.

Devlin says : Initial reading of the draft curriculum indicates three main objectives:

the history of New Zealand will primarily be focused on Maori history
the new Histories in Schools curriculum will be taught within a te Ao Maori framework
these histories will focus on regional and local histories, suggesting a lesser focus on our national history

This pedagogy is a significant shift away from traditional approaches to the teaching of history in most other parts of the world. For the benefit of those to be taught, a convincing rationale needs to be offered, principally why this project is being undertaken when there already exists a comprehensive and official treatment of our history as a nation available online at Te Ara Encyclopedia of New Zealand and the History Branch of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture? Could the reason be purely political?

Take the time to have a look at both submissions.

What does shuttle invector encoding mean?

    shuttle vector(Noun)
    1. A vector constructed, usually with selectable markers and tags, so that it can propagate in two different host species.

    2. A shuttle vector is a vector constructed so that it can propagate in two different host species. Therefore, DNA inserted into a shuttle vector can be tested or manipulated in two different cell types. The main advantage of these vectors is they can be manipulated in E. coli then used in a system which is more difficult or slower to use. Shuttle vectors include plasmids that can propagate in eukaryotes and prokaryotes or in different species of bacteria. There are also adenovirus shuttle vectors, which can propagate in E. coli and mammals. Shuttle vectors are frequently used to quickly make multiple copies of the gene in E. coli. They can also be used for in vitro experiments and modifications One of the most common types of shuttle vectors is the yeast shuttle vector. Almost all commonly used S. cerevisiae vectors are shuttle vectors. Yeast shuttle vectors have components that allow for replication and selection in both E. coli cells and yeast cells. The E. coli component of a yeast shuttle vector includes an origin of replication and a selectable marker, e.g. antibiotic resistance, Beta lactamase. The yeast component of a yeast shuttle vector includes an autonomously replicating sequence, a yeast centromere, and a yeast selectable marker.

        • ……” cant survive if the one stops work to raise a child let alone have any spare $$$ to bring up a kid properly”…..

That’s it in a nutshell. Most likely breeders are second eldest granddaughter & her partner. She’s in retail (min. wage plus a bit but 30hrs/week & he drives a logging truck. They’re close to a deposit on a home but if she has to give up work to raise a family then no lending institution will touch them.

We & her parents are in a position to bulk up a deposit but it’s the ongoing repayments occasioned by an out of control property market that’s the root of the problem.

          3

          0

          • Nasska, i wouldnt be stumping up the deposit and letting them get a mortage, If it goes tits up you all lose and the banks rights overide yours. Its also harder for them to repay the bank of mum n dad and also the retail bank.

If you cant provide them the full amount for the property then dont do it at all, if you own the house and the market crashes or interest rates go up to unaffordable amounts then you still own a house and the scum banks wont take it or demand a loan top up if their equity falls below 20%.

  30. Malawi burns nearly 20,000 expired COVID-19 shots despite assurances on shelf life

John Nkengasong, director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), part of the AU, told a news conference late last month that the shots could be used until July 13, based on a further analysis conducted by manufacturers the Serum Institute of India (SII).

He and the WHO also urged African countries not to waste vaccines donated to them.

However, the Malawian government said it would not give expired vaccines to its citizens.
