Intentional hit and run at Maroochydore, will cars now be banned?
A man has been charged with eight counts of attempted murder after an alleged hit and run on the Sunshine Coast that has left a young woman fighting for life.
Detective Acting Inspector Peter Hocken said police believed a vehicle deliberately struck eight pedestrians on Aerodrome Road in Maroochydore just before midnight on Saturday.
Police said the 38-year-old driver of the Toyota Yaris fled the scene and was arrested in a nearby residence a short time later.
A 24-year-old New South Wales woman was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.
“She came from New South Wales to visit some family members as a surprise and was only meant to be staying for a couple of days,” Acting Inspector Hocken said.
Two 18-year-old men and a 19-year-old man were taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in serious conditions, but they have since been released.

How do you “flee” the scene in a Toyota Yaris? 🤷♂️
Slowly, but faster than the coppers can waddle along.
Yes, they want to ban cars, but not this specific reason.
They don’t want mere commoners to be able to travel. The then Prince Charles despised Ryanair, for example, because that airline enabled poor people to travel.
That’s why the elite fly their private jets everywhere and condemn everyone else from flying or even driving. “Climate change” is the smokescreen. They simply don’t want commoners spoiling their views or their time.
It’s why the WEF promote 15-minute cities. At first you won’t need your car, and then you won’t be able to have a car.
